Formed in May MMXIII Ophidian Coil clearly saw the vision and purpose of its (non)existence - to open the gateways towards
the Unknown and pierce through all deceptions.
In years which followed, four spells were cast in glory of the Absolute. In cooperation with Honza Kapák, they were engraved in MMXIV. Two of them found their way on Promo 2014, which marked the beginning of the new chapter.

The band pays tribute to old-school black metal without becoming a cliché. Their music is exactly what I want when I want to listen to straight-up Second Wave black metal. The riffs were memorable and weren’t diluted by too-long run times; the drums were resonant and powerful without being overpowering, and the songwriting was excellent overall. Finland black metal band att the finest. 10/10 ⚔🖤⚔.

Thanks for leeding me here, Ippocalyptica. This is indeed compareable to Marthyrium's 2023 masterpiece in terms of relentlessness and intensity. The guitars are sharp enough to cut through diamonds. The dissonance and the melodies are perfectly woven together with the fierce, unmistakingly French vocals. Since this is 8 years old, a follow-up would be greatly apprechiated.

Don't get me wrong. This is really good and everything is on point. But I'm just kind of confused about the huge elephant in the room regarding the band's name. Seriously? Like how is this not going to get mixed up with THE Leviathan? The Jef Whitehead 20+ year beast? I mean... what's next - "THE BTLS", "MTRHD" or maybe "VN HLN?" Music like this needs a less obvious touchpoint. Because as much as I like "Eradication of Nescience" - it's now begging to be compared to "Scar Sighted." Aka ... GTFO.
